Ripple Energy Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions

PLEASE READ THE TERMS OF THIS POLICY CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING ANY GIFT VOUCHER

These are the Terms and Conditions relating to Gift Vouchers purchased by people (“Donors”) on behalf of others they wish to benefit from those Gift Vouchers (“Recipients”), collectively “you”. “Gift Vouchers” may take different forms but will typically constitute a unique code provided via email to be used as all or part payment for shares in Ripple managed co-operative societies, products and services provided or facilitated by Ripple Energy¹ (“Ripple”) on behalf of others or on its own account.

Purchase

The minimum amount a Gift Voucher may be purchased for is £25 and the maximum is £5,000, with a total transaction limit of £7,500. There is a £25 minimum ownership level per wind farm or solar park. If your voucher amount is below this level the Recipient will need to make up the remainder themselves, either with other vouchers or by making a payment.

It is the Donor's responsibility to enter the Recipient’s email address and other details correctly. Ripple cannot be held responsible if details are entered incorrectly and someone other than the intended Recipient uses the Gift Voucher. Nor will Ripple be held responsible if details of Gift Vouchers are stolen or misplaced and used by others.

You have a legal right to change your mind within 14 days after purchasing a Gift Voucher. To exercise this right, let Ripple know by emailing support@rippleenergy.com.

To redeem a Gift Voucher the Recipient may need to accept terms and conditions, such as becoming a member of a Ripple cooperative society, so please check that membership would be appropriate for the Recipient before purchasing.

Use

Gift Vouchers shall be valid for 5 years from the date of issue. After 5 years Ripple will have the right to pass the value of unused Gift Vouchers to a cooperative society or other body for the purposes of fuel poverty reduction or environmental actions.

Gift Vouchers are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Gift Vouchers do not entitle the Recipient to priority access to shares, so Gift Vouchers can only be redeemed to buy shares in cooperative, or other, societies when shares are actually available.

Recipients are subject to the same requirements and restrictions as any other Ripple customer. This includes but is not limited to:

1. Minimum ownership levels, so Recipients may need to top up their ownership in order to reach the minimum level.
2. To receive savings on electricity bills Recipients must be a named customer supplied by one of Ripple’s supply partners.
3. Recipients are subject to the maximum permitted personal ownership levels.
4. Ripple may undertake anti-money laundering and other checks as it deems necessary when Gift Vouchers are redeemed (as well as when purchased).

Lost, stolen or destroyed Gift Vouchers may not be exchanged or refunded. It is therefore the responsibility of the Recipient to keep their Gift Vouchers safe.

Gift Vouchers are only to be used by the intended Recipients. If Gift Vouchers are used fraudulently then Ripple reserves the right to cancel them and the products purchased.

Gift Vouchers may only be redeemable for products and or services as described in correspondence comprising the Gift Voucher.

Gift Vouchers may be used to buy shares in single or multiple societies and multiple Gift Vouchers can be used to buy shares in a single society.

Currently gift vouchers are not redeemable when making a reservation.

Legal

Ripple reserves the right to update and change the terms and conditions of its Gift Vouchers at any time. This does not affect your legal rights. Ripple maintains the right to cancel Gift Vouchers in its sole discretion in situations where it is deemed necessary to do so (such as to comply with applicable laws or as a result of circumstances beyond its control).

Personal data relating to the purchase or use of a gift voucher will be used in accordance with current applicable data protection and privacy legislation and you are deemed to accept the terms of Ripple's privacy policy which can be found at: https://rippleenergy.com/privacy-policy.

These conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You agree, as does Ripple, to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
