A few simple steps to cut your bills and CO2

Lower and more stable bills

Your wind farm savings are the difference between the wholesale market electricity price and the wind farm's low and stable running cost. High wholesale electricity prices mean bigger savings. Lower prices would reduce your savings.

Protection from rising prices

Prices are currently at record levels. Our quotes use the Government's long term forecast which was last updated in 2020 and does not reflect these high prices - if it did, your savings would be higher.

For a comparison with your current bill, if (and that's a big if) prices remained at the level assumed in the current energy price cap, your savings would be nearly 15p/kWh, 3 times the estimated level. This blog explains more about how high prices equal higher savings.

01

Understanding your needs

To start, we find out how much electricity you use, your address and who your energy supplier is.

family child

02

We create your quote

We assume you want 100% of your consumption covered by your wind farm, but you can flex this using the slider. The minimum is just £25 and the maximum is what would generate 120% of your electricity consumption.

03

Buy shares in the wind farm co-op

You are now a Ripple member! You own part of the wind farm alongside thousands of other co-op members. There's nothing more to pay. The running costs of the wind farm are deducted ahead of your savings (the savings shown in the calculator are after the running costs have been paid).

04

Your electricity is supplied to your home

Once the wind farm starts generating power your savings are applied to your electricity bill each month. Our supply partners use the grid, so you can use electricity whenever you like.
